Hi I’m Eva Joly, a senior at Saint Michael’s College, graduating in December 2025 with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Data Science and Public Health.
I created this space to document my work as a scientist, healthcare professional, and advocate. While offering a real, personal look at what it’s like to pursue research and care while living with chronic illness and disability.
I’ve grown novel mast cell models for at my instatution, worked as an EMT and medical assistant, and navigated systems that often overlook people like me. My work is powered by curiosity ... and by frustration that drives me to ask better questions, push harder for answers, and center lived experience in every step of the process.
This site will grow alongside me as I begin my 2025 internship at the Norris Lab through the HIP Program designed for paietnt-scientists who want to study their own disease. I’ll be using it to track my work for credit at SMC, reflect on what I’m learning, and connect with others.
Whether you’re a professor, future employer, fellow researcher, or someone on a similar path. Thanks for being here. Let’s get to work.
